Play and the Convention of the Child

Would you like to glide around like a fish, be a bug in a rug,dress-up like a motocucle priest or just simply have your privacy respected? All children are unique. All children are equally inportant.  And all children have the right to play.  The exhibition ”Play” is for you to decide how you want to play.


Come to”Play” and meet silly animals, a mirror giraffe, a soft puzzle, fantasy clouds and much more.  Twelve design students fom Germany, Iran, south Korea, China, USA and Sweden present an interactive exhibition based on the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The students are part of a design programme, which is the only one of its' kind in the world: Child Culture DesignHDK – School of Design and Crafts at University of Gothenburg.

The exhibiting deisng students are: Annika Nilsson, Annika Steven, Cong Ma , Emma österman,  Erin Strömgren, Hyojung Um, Linda Karlsson, Mani Zamani, Yanella Ekman, Ylva Eckersjö, Yuanquan Xu and Yue Xin.


The UN Convention on the Right of the child promises that childre should have a good home, life and future.  There are 54 articles that defines the right of the child.  It doesn't matter where on earth you live. Adult should listen to what you have to say. an important article says that children hav the right to play. 


Teh exhibition ”Play” is opende at the Röhsska museet  in gothenburg on Saturday February 12 by Anneli Hulthén, chairman of the Gothenburg City Council, Johnny Friberg and Carl-Johan Skogh, Head of Programme and Course coordinator at  Child Culture Design and by Ted Hesselbom, Head of the Museum. The exhibition is a cooperation between HDK and Röhsska and is open until March 20.
