Education
My university education, from the University of Gothenburg, has its base in information/communication, with International Relations, Social and Political Science and French as complementary courses.
Work experience
The major part of my professional life I have been working within the cultural field, mainly with film but also with theatre. I’ve worked both strategically and practically with project management and communication/PR. In the end of the ‘80s I started working as a Communications Officer at the Göteborg City Theatre and was then appointed to a position at Amnesty International, where I was in charge of setting up an office in Göteborg, the first one outside of the capital Stockholm. I then returned to the world of theatre, working as a Communications Officer at Angereds Teater.
From theatre I moved on to film: in the beginning of the ‘90s I worked as a project leader at Göteborg Film Festival. For many years I was then employed at the film production company GötaFilm. The job at GötaFilm meant everything from reading scripts and having contact with directors to planning a film production, casting, being a Press Officer and participate in the work of launching a film.
In the end of the ‘90s I started working at Film i Väst in Trollhättan. There I was, at first, in charge of the distribution of short films and documentaries, but was soon assigned a new post as Communications Officer. My main tasks were to build up and be in charge of the internal and external communication and to be a part of the steering group. After this, I was appointed head of the West Sweden Film Commission, where my task was to market West Sweden (the Västra Götaland region) as a production centre, mainly towards international producers.
After 14 years in the film industry I was curious to move on to new challenges and I therefore left the world of film to start working at HDK – the School of Design and Crafts.
Present work
Since August 2003 I am Head of Information at HDK, The School of Design and Crafts at Göteborg University, and I really enjoy it.
