BEYOND
I am very passionate about the relationship between people and everyday objects and I believe that we should be able to coexist with our belongings over time. I therefor wanted to create a product which should be shared throughout generations in a family and act as a place where you get a sense of connection and a feeling of belonging to something greater. The result is ‘BEYOND’, a mirror, in which I also explored the boundaries between the decorative and functional aspects of a mirror.
‘BEYOND’ was exhibited at Stockholm Furniture Fair 2012, together with the Masters programme in Design from HDK - School of Design and Craft.
Effloresce
Effloresce is a handtufted wool carpet that draws the imagination to a flourishing landscape. In the carpet I wanted to achieve the same feeling as when you walk through a field of flowers. With different textures, thicknessess and lengths of the piles I tried to create a
tactile experience for the feets. The result could be kept next to your bed, and every morning when you wake up and put your feets on the carpet, your mind wanders away to your childhood memories when you ran barefoot through the flower meadows.

FORCED
Sometimes I am amazed by the processing of a material that is created by human power. Especially in materials that is found in nature. I think that it shows that you have to work directly in a material to understand its full potentials.
FORCED is a book in which I have gathered my explorations of different techniques that is used to create structures on natural materials. My aim was to gain knowledge about traditional crafting techniques that is used to manipulate a surface on wood or textile. But also to work in a hands-on learning process, since I believe that that is the best way of learning the potentials of a material. My outcome was gathered into a book, that now acts as an inspiration folder for me in my work.
