Lina Lundin

The starting point for this work was the fact that the average swedish person consume up to 24 kilos of textiles every year, mostly clothes. I have investigated that amount of material and asked myself if it´s possible for one person to handle at the same time. Part one is an attempt to understand the quantity. The second part is what i worked with for an ongoing group exhibition at "Textile 11", the international biennale in Kaunas, Lithuania. I turned one year of consumtion into a wearable object. A costume which contains words like volume, protection and burden. I also wanted to see what could become of the relationship between this costume and a dancer. The work was documented with film and photo.
