the Scent of Creativity

This project is about discovering the olfactory identity of our surrounding. Although the sense of smell has been highly regarded in perfumery and culinary professions, most people are unaware of the important role of odor in our everyday life. This project delves into the often neglected dimension of the reality and propose the possibility of utilizing olfaction as a way of enhancing the memories connecting events and spaces. It started as a personal observation on how does creativity ‘smells like’ in HDK while hoping to define a fragrance representing the vibrant ambiance. The result is a collection of 3 scents extracted from materials found in HDK, plus 2 scents inspired by the atmosphere in this school.
